Ripple Street was formed in November of 2009, when Courtney Gains and Steven Adams met and began to write songs together. Ripple Street has a unique rock sound blending Courtney’s vocals and Steve’s guitar playing.
Ripple Street has played gigs all over the Los Angeles, Orange County, Long Beach and the San Diego California area. Once satisfied with the original material they worked up, they set off to record their first EP due out this spring.
Courtney first hit the LA music scene in the 90’s with his band The Gathering, which was a part of the coffee house/unplugged scene. Courtney Gains first achieved success during the 1980s with a variety of roles in films such as Children of the Corn (1984), Back to the Future (1985), Can’t Buy Me Love (1987), Colors (1988), The ‘Burbs (1989) and Memphis Belle (1990). His most recent credits include Sweet Home Alabama (2002), Benny Bliss and the Disciples of Greatness (2009) (which he also produced), Faster (2010), L.A.Noir (video game), Field of Lost Shoes and Fun House Massacre.
In addition to his film work, Gains has guest-starred on several notable television shows including Seinfeld (1989), Monk (2002), In the Heat of the Night (1988), Tales from the Crypt (1989), ER (1994), JAG (1995), Nash Bridges (1996), Charmed (1998), Alias (2001), The Guardian (2001) (recurring role), _”My Name Is Earl” (2005)_, Bones, The Middle, and Mini-Series Texas Rising.
More recently he was the front man for the band Benny Bliss and the Disciples of Greatness, which spun off a rock and roll anti-technology road comedy film that is now out on DVD.
Steven, who is originally from Jonesville North Carolina, had played the NC music scene for almost thirteen years before coming to Los Angeles. He has worked as a studio musician and as a touring bassist sharing the stage with such acts as Chris Isaak, Lisa Marie Presley, Misfits, Spin Doctors and many more.
“Our mission was to record a sonically textured sound while capturing the raw emotions of our personal experience and point of view, this is Ripple Street”. Looking forward to new music ahead for the band in 2018.
